Hospice care in Aurora, Colorado is a growing option for families with ailing loved ones. As such, families are ensured that their terminally ill members receive the right care. Most institutions require all the help that they need to provide better care for their patients.

Pinnacle Hospice Care,  for example, is always open to volunteers. We have professionals who provide skilled nursing care in Colorado,  but the volunteers contribute in many aspects. If you’re thinking of dedicating your extra time to something meaningful, you should consider signing up as one of our volunteers.

Our volunteers help facilitate activities for our patients, like music therapy.  Signing up as a volunteer can help you gain a better understanding of the different struggles everyone takes in this life. It gives you a sense of fulfillment, knowing that you are helping people without expecting anything in return. You are making an impact on our patients and their families.

Become one of our volunteers and help us make hospice care better for our patients. You can also help with our bereavement services that are intended for family members who are left behind. There are so many things you can do with us and we would really appreciate your time and effort.

Visit our hospice and learn more about our services. We’d be happy to hear your story.

Acupuncture is used to treat patients with frozen shoulder injuries and other musculoskeletal problems. It is also used in the treatment of other conditions, such as arthritis, back pain, or osteoarthritis that may be caused by chronic inflammation from damaged tissue in joints or muscles. Whenever someone is experiencing symptoms or has one of those conditions, they should go see a doctor to be treated with this medicine. Some of the main benefits of acupuncture are: Relieves pain from many common conditions including headaches or migraines. Reduces inflammation and joint pain. Helps relieve symptoms caused by stress and depression. Reduces stiffness in muscles that causes pain or stiffness. The most common reason for acupuncture treatment include pain and stiffness from arthritis, chronic pain, menstrual cramps, sciatica, back pain and other conditions. Pain relief can be from acupuncture, chiropractic, or a combination of the two. It is a technique that involves the use of needles that are inserted into the body. The needles are placed into specific points on the skin, called meridians. When the needles enter the meridian, the energy is then transferred to the body. This energy can be used to treat conditions for those in their older age and occasionally in younger people. Acupuncture originally comes from China, but people use it all over the world. Traditional Chinese Medication (TCM) is based on Chinese herbal medicine, which is an ancient system of health care. TCM uses herbal medicines to treat a wide range of health conditions. The most well-known of these are Chinese herbs, herbs that have been used for thousands of years by people across Asia. Other benefits of acupuncture include treating various types of chronic diseases like bursitis and rheumatism, reducing blood pressure, easing headaches, and relieving backaches. In addition, it can be beneficial for those with mental illness, helping them overcome anxiety and depression, and even curing cancer. Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine, which is based on a philosophy of "energy" and "chi". The philosophy says that the body has a natural energy that can be used to heal itself. How Acupuncture Works This method uses needles that are inserted into points for them to stimulate specific areas of your body. It can be done by yourself or with someone else. There are different kinds of acupressure techniques, such as acupuncture needles, needles inserted through the skin, or needles placed in the bones. There are many different types and styles of Chinese acupuncture. Some practitioners use short needles that have a point, while others use a long needle. The acupuncture needle is inserted through the skin, and the acupuncture points are connected to the muscles and bones. There is no need for any medical treatment, so it is considered a safe and effective way to cure many diseases.

There have been a lot of studies explaining how music impacts our emotions but did you know that listening to music can also be therapeutic for people diagnosed with a terminal illness? Evidence has shown that the therapeutic use of music, particularly among those who are terminally ill, has tremendous benefits. A study demonstrated how Music Therapy alleviates not just physical pain but also emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, fear, frustration, and anger. According to research, music can help lower the heart rate and blood pressure of agitated patients. Listening to music before, during, and after surgery significantly reduced a patient’s pain, anxiety, and need for pain medication . A clinical worker even shared that whenever a music therapist is singing or playing an instrument or recorded music, medical monitors show how the heart rates and blood pressure levels of patients stabilize to normal.

Saying goodbye to a loved one is never easy. Healing and coping with grief is even harder. Start with acknowledging your pain. Whatever it is you’re feeling: anger, sadness, confusion, loneliness, frustration, resentment , shock, disbelief, guilt, regret, emptiness, confusion, or fear, know that these feelings are normal and common reactions to loss and that they’re valid. Accept that you’re hurting instead of repressing these negative emotions. Find ways to express your emotions and thoughts. You may find it helpful to tell the story of your loss to a trusted friend, a therapist, a spiritual counselor, or through a journal. Others translate their emotions through painting or writing a poem, and some deal with grief through Music Therapy . Find what works for you. What matters is that you get to deal with these emotions healthily.
